DeLorean Motor Company has unveiled the amazing Alpha5, an all-electric evolution of the vehicle made famous by its Back to the Future trilogy. DeLorean turned to Italdesign, the original car’s designer, to shape the Alpha5. The new design features softer lines penned by Italdesign but retains the DMC-12’s most iconic feature, the gull-wing doors. Working with a 100+kWh battery, Alpha5 can reach 0 to 60 in 2.99 seconds. With a maximum acceleration of 155 mph (250 kph), the vehicle can reach a driving range of over 300 miles (482 km). The company’s CEO, Joost de Vries, said the first 88 cars will be track-only examples, followed by production for street use. Let’s not go without saying that a V8 and SUV version is also planned.
