Sited on the shore of Lake Joseph in Ontario, the Metrick Cottage and Boathouse reflects is rough landscape in structure and materials. The fundamental house is contrived as three gabled volumes. Their singed fir outsides highlight uncovered joists and larger than usual overhang, giving them a provincial character while standing-crease metal rooftops and sweeping coating give a contemporary quality. Every lumber structure is isolated by work, with the primary living regions in the inside and the main room and visitor suite on either side.
