Today, Ares Design may be known for its high-octane supercar modifications and wild one-off retro construction, but please don’t forget the company’s feature: passenger car construction. With its Wami Lalique Spyder project driving the car world into madness, Ares is taking an absolutely low-key approach this time. But this is not to say that it is compelling.
Instead, the latest version launched by the Italian automaker is Land Rover Defender Spec 1.2, which shows the purpose of Ares. Speaking of appearance, Spec 1.2 is very simple, without any extra decoration, right down to the rivets. Instead, it is equipped with a carbon fiber hood, widened wings, and front and rear sports LED lights. Under the hood, the backup power unit has been replaced by a 4.8-liter V8 engine. Used in conjunction with a 6-speed automatic transmission, it can produce 280 hp and 324 lb-ft of torque. Inside, it uses a fully customized interior, with soft leather and carbon fiber decoration throughout the process, as well as a brand new infotainment system, power windows, and even air conditioning. Riding on a set of custom 18-inch Ares Design rims makes the case study subtle. Click here for more details.
