The world of automotive enthusiasts is abuzz with excitement as the prototype of the first “Eccentrica” car, a restomod based on the iconic 1990s Lamborghini Diablo, was recently unveiled in Milan. This groundbreaking project, led by passionate entrepreneur Emanuel Colombini, aims to create a unique fusion of classic design and modern performance.
Emanuel Colombini, the head of a major furniture company, Lamborghini collector, and an AM driver in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo, spearheaded the Eccentrica project out of his deep love for the Diablo and a desire to innovate while preserving the car’s soul. To bring his vision to life, Colombini enlisted the expertise of the renowned design firm BorromeodeSilva and a team of highly skilled engineers and technicians.
The Eccentrica prototype promises an extraordinary driving experience, boasting bold technological and design upgrades that amplify the fiery personality of the Diablo. The car features extreme proportions, integrated details, and a reinforced steel tubular chassis. The interior design harmoniously blends the minimalist aesthetic of the early 1990s with state-of-the-art mechanics inspired by luxury watchmaking.
The project garnered support from premium global brands such as Pirelli, Brembo, Marantz, Capristo, and Alcantara, who contributed their expertise and exclusive features to the Eccentrica. Pirelli provided the high-performance tires, Brembo created the braking system, Marantz designed the audio system, Capristo produced the exhaust system, and Alcantara crafted the luxurious upholstery.
As a “few-off” production, the Eccentrica car consists of only 19 models, making it a highly sought-after and exclusive vehicle. Its value is expected to be appreciated over time, making it an attractive investment opportunity for collectors and enthusiasts. The manufacturing of the Eccentrica is managed by a San Marino-based start-up that aspires to become a leader in the restomod field.
Automotive enthusiasts will have the opportunity to witness the Eccentrica prototype in person at prestigious events around the world. Its debut will be at the renowned Goodwood Festival of Speed, followed by appearances at the Monterey Car Week in August and tour stops in New York and Miami.
The Eccentrica car represents a bold step in the restomod genre, where vintage supercars are revitalized with modern comforts and performance capabilities while retaining their original spirit and aesthetic DNA. With its meticulous craftsmanship, innovative design upgrades, and limited production, the Eccentrica Diablo restomod is set to captivate the hearts of automotive enthusiasts and collectors worldwide.
