Opel, the renowned automotive manufacturer, has recently unveiled an electrifying creation set to redefine urban mobility and capture the imagination of adventure seekers. The Opel Rocks e-XTREME, born out of the “You design it, we build it” contest, showcases the incredible potential for customization on the compact electric vehicle platform.
Designed by Lukas Wenzhöfer, an aspiring design student, the Opel Rocks e-XTREME is a one-off concept that pushes the boundaries of what an electric vehicle can be. Inspired by rally-cross racing and off-road rigs, Wenzhöfer envisioned a car that would exude fun and excitement. The result is a visually striking vehicle that stands out from the crowd.
The Opel Rocks e-XTREME boasts a broader stance, thanks to its protruding wheels and double wishbone suspension setup. To enhance its rugged appeal, an exo-skeleton-style external cage with a roof rack has been added, featuring an oversized rear wing borrowed from Opel’s Vectra GTS V8 DTM touring race car. The front of the cage is equipped with off-road-style LED auxiliary lights, completing the car’s aggressive and adventurous look. Additionally, 3D-printed flared fenders provide ample space for the wider stance and add to the concept’s unique charm.
While the Opel Rocks e-XTREME is a one-of-a-kind concept and not intended for production, it demonstrates the versatility and adaptability of Opel’s compact EV platform. Whether it’s minor tweaks or full-scale transformations, the platform offers ample opportunities for customization, allowing individuals to create their own unique electric driving experience.
