Founded as an aircraft engine manufacturer in 1910 before changing its name to Bayerische Motoren Werke in 1922, BMW produced its first Max Friz-designed motorcycle in 1923 the R 32. The Bavarian brand continues to use the same engine configuration that it used then on its motorcycles today. Celebrating the centennial of BMW Motorrad in 2023, the company wants to crown this big celebration with the launch of the BMW 100 Years Edition R nineT and 100 Years Edition R 18.
The BMW 100 Years models come with a black and chrome paint scheme reminiscent of classic BMW motorcycles of the late 1920s and beyond. Option 719 parts include Billet Pack Shadow with black anodized wheels, cylinder heads, and hardware, as well as expansion tank caps and rod mirrors. The 100 Years version of the R18 also features an advanced technology package that includes reversing assist, cruise control, heated grips, keyless start, all-LED lighting, and dynamic braking with integrated ABS, engine braking, and stability control.
The 2023 BMW 100 Years R 18, scheduled to enter dealerships next year, are expected to be available at $18,990, and the 2023 BMW R nineT 100 Years for $19,995. Both 100 Years Edition models will be limited to just 1923 units worldwide. Click here if you want more information.
