Airstream, Inc., the maker of riveted aluminum travel trailers, has joined forces with Studio F. A. Porsche to unveil the Airstream Studio F. A. Porsche Concept Travel Trailer. The concept travel trailer is a product of the joint efforts of both brands’ design teams, bringing a new and innovative look to the Airstream‘s classic trailer. The design boasts several unique features, including a lowering suspension that allows city dwellers to store the trailer in a standard residential garage and a pop-up roof that increases the interior headroom. Airstream and Porsche Lifestyle Group executives will display a 1/3 scale model of the trailer and a Porsche Macan tow vehicle at the SXSW exhibit. This is the first “garageable” Airstream trailer design in the company’s 90-year history.
The Airstream Studio F. A. Porsche Concept Travel Trailer is a fresh design approach aimed at reaching a broader, more diverse base of potential customers. With fewer protrusions that create the aerodynamic drag, the innovative design ensures a better towing experience optimized for towing with electric vehicles. The Airstream and Porsche design teams spent years developing the design’s aerodynamics to ensure the trailer’s improved performance while in motion. The innovative design extends to the interior of the trailer, which features large windows and skylights, creating a spacious and breathtaking interior feel.
Innovation is the art of discovering the possible—the collaboration between Airstream and Studio F. A. Porsche brought talented new eyes and minds to the never-ending process of improving the Airstream experience—the Airstream Studio F. A.
