Maserati introduced the Maserati MC20 Cielo, a retractable roof version of the MC20 supercar. “Cielo” means “sky” in Italian. Indeed, the name is quite appropriate because not only does the top fold open in 12 seconds, but also when in the closed position, the Webasto glass top can be changed from opaque to transparent at the touch of a button. In other words, even if the weather conditions are not very suitable, you can bring the clouds much closer without getting your hair wet.
The retractable roof means that the 3-liter twin-turbo 621 horsepower V6 cannot be seen through a glass panel like the coupe but instead is occupied by a large Maserati logo. Often, handling and direct performance are compromised when structural rigidity and weight are compromised. But thanks to meticulous attention to detail, no compromises have been made in the MC20 Cielo.
Regardless of whether the roof is open or closed, they have managed to maintain a performance that provides an immersive and exciting driving experience. The pursuit of aerodynamic perfection has resulted in a fully integrated extension of the overall design. As a result, they were able to achieve supercar performance, pushing the Maserati MC20 Cielo to 0-60 in just under 3 seconds and comfortably over 124 mph (320 kph) top speed.
