Although Mercedes-Benz only lifted the veil on the limited edition AMG G 63 Edition 55 produced to celebrate AMG‘s 55th anniversary just a few days ago, the German automaker has now come up with an even more impressive touch to the 55. The Mercedes-AMG GT Track Series, which will also be produced in limited numbers, manages to give goosebumps at first glance.
The most powerful sports car ever developed by Mercedes-AMG, the GT Track Series borrows elements from the GT Black Series as well as the GT3 and GT4 models. Developed for AMG‘s 55th anniversary, this GT is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 bi-turbo engine paired with a sequential Hewland HLS six-speed racing transmission with adjustable differential, producing 734 horsepower and 850Nm of torque. With an impressive curb weight of around 1400kg, this racetrack-specific GT is equipped with a range of race-specific equipment, including extensively adjustable four-way Bilstein dampers, anti-roll bars, an AMG-specific radiator grille. A carbon fiber aero kit developed specifically for this limited edition model, which includes an aluminum space frame, race-specific steel brakes cooled by carbon ducts, GT Track Series-exclusive high-gloss milled and forged 18″ wheels, and a set of integrated grilles, black carbon sills, Vertical wings, front splitter providing high downforce, modified and mechanically adjustable racing rear wing are among the features that should be counted.
Adorned with a special semi-gloss MANUFAKTUR Hightech Silver Magno finish with red and anthracite accents, the car also features an advanced racing electronics package, like the GT3 and GT4 racers, as well as a special traction control system and motorsport-specific ABS installation. Inside the vehicle, an FIA-specific high-tensile steel roll cage, carbon driver safety cell, customizable ergonomic foam-lined racing seats with five-point straps, fully adjustable pedals, an integrated data logger, and a fully programmable BOSCH DDU 11 Driver Display Unit. There are also details such as the steering wheel specially developed for the GT Track Series and the sim racing suit Cube Controls.
