Just five years after announcing plans for an all-electric airliner, Eviation Alice is now ready for takeoff. The company is currently conducting a series of tests at Arlington Municipal Airport and estimates that the aircraft will be ready for its first official flight in a few weeks. Available in three models, Executive, Commuter, and Cargo, the electrically powered Alice is built to carry up to 9 passengers or 850 pounds (385kg) of cargo. It has a range of 440 nautical miles and a maximum cruise speed of 250 knots. If this launch is successful, Eviation hopes to develop a new electric aircraft with a capacity of 40 people within the next 10 years.
