TAG Heuer has a long and glorious career in the world of premium watchmaking. After being founded in St-Imier, Switzerland in 1860, the team, then known as Uhrenmanufaktur Heuer AG, spent countless decades developing their craft. Over 160 years later, he consolidated his name in horology annals with Jack Heuer, the grandson of its founder, as the honorary president of the TAG Heuer.
For his 88th birthday, TAG decided to honor Jack with a tastefully redesigned vintage Carrera. This unique, limited edition specimen has the same 42mm case as its donor but opted for a finely brushed 18K rose gold plating (said to represent Heuer’s favorite material) over the traditional steel construction. Inside, the precisely produced Heuer 02 movement and special oscillating mass made its debut by completing the highly legible face of the watch and the “88” motif. At the back, a frame decorated with text asks the question: “Time never stops, why should we?” Each of these elegant watches is launched with a price request of $18,450 and a production limit of just 188 pieces.
