LEGO Creator Colosseum Contains 9K+ Pieces

Built around AD 70 by Emperor Vespasian as a gift to the Roman people, the Roman Colosseum was arguably one of the most ambitious projects of antiquity among the Wonders of the World, such as the Great Pyramid at Giza. Consisting of nearly 2,000-year-old limestone and bricks, which could accommodate more than 80,000 viewers at the time, it now forms the basis for LEGO ‘s largest set ever, containing more than 9,000 pieces.

The actual size of the Flavianus Amphitheater (Colosseum) has been reduced to 1:180 and the 9,036 piece set is 10.5” (27cm) high, 20.5” (52cm) wide, and 23.5” (59cm) deep. This three-story building; has an impressive area of detail, such as built-in arches, tree-lined outer walkways, Doric, Ionic, and Corinthian columns, and even the floor of the colosseum to reveal a replica of the hypogeum support structure below. Due to the enormous number of items included, LEGO chose to present the regular instruction manual in the form of a coffee-table-style instruction book with historical and design details about the Coliseum. The price of the LEGO Creator Colosseum, scheduled to be released on November 27, 2020, will be $550. Click for detailed information.
