The video game in the movie is called Free City and the game’s producer has a plan to deprecate Free City soon. Recognizing this situation, Guy will join forces with an outside actor to have an interesting fight against the producer.

Lead actor Ryan Reynolds has said that Free Guy has a special place for him and is his favorite movie to date. Reynolds also said that the Free Guy movie is like a modern version of the Back to the Future trilogy.
